State of the States 2015 Evaluating Teaching, Leading and Learning
November 4, 2015The National Council on Teacher Quality released its “State of the States 2015: Evaluating Teaching, Leading and Learning,” which provides a lay of the land on state teacher and principal evaluation policy in 2015. The report finds that more rigorous policies are continuing to take root across the states, with 43 states requiring that student achievement and growth be included in teacher evaluations; 35 of the 43 require it to be a significant factor. Evaluation of principal performance lags behind that of teachers.
